The Trump Administration is making some serious progress chipping away at Chuck Schumer’s disastrous Diversity Visa Program. This is a lottery program that allows 100,000 random people to immigrate to this country every single year. The man responsible for the horrific attack in New York was in this country as a result of that failed program.
The Justice Department moved Monday to revoke the U.S. citizenship of four Somali men accused of lying on their visa application. They entered the U.S. through the Diversity Visa Program.
The Washington Post covered the details:
“Fosia Abdi Adan, 51, whose last known address was Eden Prairie, entered the U.S. under the Diversity Lottery Visa Program in 2001. Civil complaints filed in federal court in Minnesota on Monday allege she then used her visa to get visas for a man she falsely claimed was her husband, and two cousins of hers who she and the man falsely claimed were their children. The complaints say all four used false names at the time. They eventually became American citizens.”
Check out what Attorney General Jeff Sessions had to say on Monday:
“For decades, the American people have begged and pleaded with their government for a lawful system of immigration that serves the national interest — a system that has as its foremost priorities their safety, their jobs, and their well-being. The current immigration system is easily abused by fraudsters and nefarious actors, and that’s certainly true of the Diversity Immigrant Visa Program.”
In the wake of the tragedy in New York, President Trump demanded that Congress take action. “I am calling on Congress to TERMINATE the Diversity Visa Lottery Program that presents significant vulnerabilities to our national security,” the President tweeted.
The Acting Secretary of Homeland Security, Elaine Duke, spelled it out clearly in her official press release on the matter:
“I previously taught civics classes, and saw firsthand how hard people work to come to the United States legally and honestly. It is out of respect for those people that we cannot tolerate fraud, deception, and abuse of our legal immigration system. Fraudulently obtained citizenship is an affront to our American values, the rule of law, and all those who honestly attained their immigration status.”
Red-blooded Americans everywhere applaud President Trump and the action the Department of Justice is taking under Jeff Sessions. Illegal immigrants take a memo: if you have entered this country outside the rule of law, you will be forcibly stripped of your resident status and expelled from this country!
What do you think of President Trump and his no-nonsense policies?
