Democrats wanting to hold on to their offices of corruption and, by default, their access to endless supplies of female staffers to harass, may want to pay attention to the words of fictional drug lord Tony Montana from Scarface.
“In this country, you gotta make the money first. Then when you get the money, you get the power. Then when you get the power, then you get the women.”
Last month, the Democrat National Committee (DNC), headed up by empty barrel Tom Perez and racist Deputy Chairman Keith Ellison, had its worst 30 days of fundraising results in a decade, reports Daily Caller. More importantly, troops on the ground report the lack of credibility the DNC has in light of a year of losses and scandals.
In ten years, the Party that Hate built, went from raking in nearly $50 million in November 2008 to scrounging out only $5.7 million last month, which still was not enough to cover expenses, leaving it in $2 million in debt. Compare that to the nearly $40 million in fund raising gains the GOP (i.e. Trump) took in.
The DNC was gutted by an exiting Obama who took his donors with him, leaving then-presidential candidate Hillary Clinton to essentially buy the penniless DNC with a delivery of fiduciary aid. This whole sordid affair was revealed by one of the two disgraced chairwomen of the DNC, Donna Brazile.
The Politico reports that the DNC’s money woes are real and could severely impact their 2018 ‘ground game’ in key state races. Every month, the DNC forks over $10,000 to every state to help fund campaigns. Then there is the State Party Innovation Fund of $10 million used to counter successful Republican campaigns.
In October, reports Politico, the DNC only had a total of $7 million to cover all of their expenses. DNC officials say, ‘Don’t worry! Our main source of funds come from small amounts from individual donors’, yet that seems to ignore the reality on the ground.
Politico quotes a state DNC party chairman as saying, “Donors, small and large, are so over the party.”
The DNC claim also flies in the face of Perez’s first instincts in relation to raising money: he flew to the retirement home of elitist wealth, Martha’s Vineyard and then bounced to Silicon Valley’s safe space, San Francisco. So much for the little guy’s representation.
In all fairness to Democrats, it is kind of hard to motivate a base that had their collective butts kicked in 2016 and is being rallied by an embittered Obama hack using the Papa John-esque motto of “A Better Deal: Better Skills, Better Jobs, Better Wages.”
Tony Montana would be so disappointed.
